Beauty Recipes For Your Home Spa Day

We all know how important is to relax and take time for ourselves. Relaxation is key to rejuvenating our body and mind so we can stay healthy and happy. De-stress at home, while pampering your skin, with these DIY spa recipes:

Keep your complexion young and vibrant with this DIY facial mask. The anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties of honey and oatmeal help keep the skin moisturized, fight breakouts, soothe irritation, and minimize the early signs of aging, like fine lines and wrinkles. It’s suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup uncooked oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup organic milk
  • 1 tablespoon pure honey

Cook all the ingredients in a small saucepan over medium heat for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

How to Use: Before applying the mask, massage a thick layer of plain honey on your clean face and neck. Apply the mask with upward strokes. Remove after 10 to 15 minutes, and rinse using a soft washcloth and warm water.

Peppermint Foot Scrub

Your feet need pampering too! This refreshing, skin-softening foot scrub is perfect after a long day on your feet. The peppermint essential oil delivers a fresh, invigorating scent and a calming cooling sensation to relax tired feet, while softening dry, rough skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 cups coarse sugar
  • 1/2 cup warmed coconut oil
  • 10-15 drops peppermint essential oil
  • 2 drops green food coloring (optional)

Mix all the ingredients together and pour into a jar. Use enough sugar until you’ve achieved your preferred consistency.

How to Use: Use once a week before showering or in a foot bath.

Relaxing Bath Bombs

Fun and fizzy, bath bombs help create a luxurious and relaxing bath for you to rest, unwind, and clear your mind. Infused with essential oils, bath bombs offer a fresh soothing scent, plus numerous health and skincare benefits. Lavender essential oil, for instance, creates a calming effect while healing dry, chapped skin, as well as cuts and minor burns.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • 1 cup Epsom salts
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 2 teaspoons essential oil
  • 3 teaspoons olive oil
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Bath bomb mold

Place all the dry ingredients in a bowl, and use a whisk to mix evenly. In a different container, mix together the liquid ingredients. Add a small amount of the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly, until all the liquid has been absorbed. Continue adding small amounts of the liquid mixture until you’ve used it all up.

Now you can add the mixture to the bath bomb mold. Add a little more than what your mold can hold on both sides and press them together until it clips. Once it’s pressed, gently tap the mold with a spoon to loosen your bath bomb. Let it dry for 1-2 days before using.

Tip: Fill your bath bomb with flower petals for the ultimate spa experience.

How to Use: Fill your bathtub with warm water and drop in the bath bomb to enjoy its lovely fragrance and soothing properties.
